About Us
YMCA of Singapore aims to serve and enrich all members of the community, regardless of race, language or religion, through wholesome programmes to develop body, mind, spirit, which are based on Christian principles.
As Singapore’s social climate constantly progresses along with globalization, our youths are constantly being exposed to new ideologies which can have significant impact on their development. With that in mind, it is essential that the YMCA of Singapore constantly adapts in order to stay relevant, without losing sight of its principles and values, to be a positive influence in these youths’ development.
As the youths in our universities today will eventually have a very big influence on our society in the near future, and with the mission statement of the YMCA, we seek to value-add to their tertiary education through the wholesome programmes of University YMCA (Uni-Y).
The first Uni-Y was set up in Singapore Management University in August 2005 with the second one being set up in National University of Singapore in August 2007.
